How to host

Ready to host this virtual escape room and open meaningful discussion about the 8th Principle?
Everything you need to make the game a success can be found here.

preparation:

To run a smooth and impactful game, hosts need to consider the following...
  • The game is designed for small groups of 2-8 players. Having more players may extend playing time and risks some folks being left out from the puzzle solving.
  • Players will confront examples of white supremacist culture in Unitarian Universalism during the game. Hosts must be mindful of how to keep players as safe as possible during the game (for example, do not run the game with BIPOC youth and white youth who have yet to begin unpacking their privilege in the same group).
  • This game is a fun, engaging way to begin discussing the 8th Principle. It is not a comprehensive teaching tool. Please do not run the game without using the follow-up discussion guide and/or other resources provided.
  • See our RESOURCES page for more information about ways to become involved with the 8th Principle work after the game - including resources to help your congregation adopt the 8th Principle if it hasn't already.
  • The game's mechanics rely heavily on Google Drive and Zoom. Hosts will need to be familiar with both platforms.
